The high failure rate,especially in core subjects in the recently released results of WAEC 2018 is a good indication to Government to switch its attention to Private Education if quality Education is the Government's priority for Ghana.

 The National Executive Director of Ghana National Council of Private schools. GNACOPS , Enoch Kwasi Gyetuah has expressed these sentiments and has challenged the government to pay  critical attention to this legitimacy in the application of education in Ghana.
In a press briefing made this afternoon when he met a cross section of  Pre-Tertiary school owners in  Jaman North district at  Sampa in the Brong Ahafo Region,
Mr. Gyetuah told the press that, it is high time Ghanaians started asking questions related to the current standards of education and to demand factual answers from institutions responsible for  continously entertaining failure at WAEC exams as if it were the norm,  every year.

He stated categorically that, huge sums of monies from tax payers' contribution have been pumped into government/public schools against the interests of Ghanaian children who find themselves in private schools every year, preparing tirelessly for these same WAEC  examination. Without support from Government, these Private School students continue producing good results while Public  School students perform abysmally, taking into consideration the extent of public expenditure on them.
These sponsored students' failure is a gross misappropriation of public resources and questions the government's dedication to the provision enshrined in the constitution to provide quality  education to every Ghanaian child of school-going age,
He therefore called on the government to probe this gross failure of students so that drastic measures could be taken to remedy this perennial menace since it is Ghana's future generation that is in jeopardy.

He said, public educational institutions are set up to purposely manage state resources to produce acceptable results and not to waste tax-payers money to produce abysmal and unacceptable results.

The national executive director of GNACOPS ,however advised the government to pay attention to the private educational institutions by offering them with the requisite support and avenues to continue to give  Ghanaians the excellent results Ghanaians desire and which has been the track record of Private sector education in Ghana and beyond for many years.
He further encouraged his members to continue the good work they are doing despite the fact that Private School Ghanaian Children are denied from benefiting from the public purse.
