The Ghana National Council of private schools in collaboration with National Readers Association has adduced library books to some private schools in Kumasi and part of Ashanti Region.
The rational behind this great effort by the council is to promote holistic education through reading which is a critical tool for poverty eradication.
According to the national executive director for the council, Mr. Kwesi Gyetuah Enoch, necessary measures are to be put in place for high academic standard of private school education in Ghana.
As a visionary man, he is of the view that the mission and vision of the council could be realised through consistent reading. To him, 'readers are leaders'.

The Director for Research and Training, Dr. Mantey Jectey-Nyarko indicated that the council is going to be proactive in raising the academic standard of all private schools in the country.
In his submission, he stated that reading is the utmost antidote to ignorance as such there is the need to inculcate the culture of reading in the up and coming generation.
' The pupils under our tutelage are being trained to become leaders in some years to come as such a generation without reading culture would be detrimental to the production of good leaders for the nation. The council hopes to extend the exercise to cover all private schools in the whole country within the shortest possible time.
All private schools are to visit the office of the council at Tafo Nhyiaso for their share of the books.
The council also looks forward to organizing one day digital transformation with total learning on June 14th, 2018. at Golden bean hotel, Kumasi from 8:00am-12:00pm.
The council calls on all private schools to make it for this educative program.
